Why Google took over VMware experts Cloudsimple

With the acquisition of Cloudsimple, Google is expanding its cloud portfolio to include a provider of virtualized solutions based on VMware. The takeover was preceded by intensive cooperation that began in the summer.

VMware virtualization solutions have been around for decades. They are correspondingly widespread in daily corporate use. So far, Google has served customers with VMware workloads to be migrated through a cooperation with the specialized service provider Cloudsimple. Now Google is taking over the company completely.

VMware migration from local to global

Whereby Cloudsimple actually helps, is to relocate existing VMware projects to the cloud. These are usually applications that have previously been running in local server environments. Typical examples from Google are business applications such as ERP and CRM, databases such as Oracle and SQL Server, development and test environments, virtual desktops, and reporting and analysis systems. VMware has been in the business for decades.

Similar solutions to those from Cloudsimple are also available for Amazon Web Services and Microsoft’s Azure. Amazon and Microsoft are cooperating directly with VMware on this issue. It is therefore logical that Google should also step up in this direction.

Cloudsimple sells Google because of its financial strength

For Cloudsimple, the takeover is a way of making future investments easier, says founder Guru Pangal. After all, Cloudsimple is a relatively young startup that was only founded in California in 2016. According to CRN, the startup has so far acquired around 35 million US dollars in venture capital, which is relatively little for a technology company in the cloud environment. In this respect, the founder’s expectations appear plausible.

Microsoft’s venture capital company M12 is also invested in Cloudsimple. The young company has so far also offered services for Microsoft’s Azure platform. Whether Cloudsimple will maintain this offer seems at least questionable.

With the help of a current partnership with CloudSimple, the customers can drift their VMware workloads from on-premises datacenters unswervingly into Google Cloud VMware Solution by CloudSimple. Also, they can create new VMware workloads as desired. The apps can route precisely the same as they have been on-premises. Along with all the welfares of the cloud, like a recital, resistance, and addition with key cloud services and pieces of machinery. The cherry on the top is customers can do all this without having to re-architect prevailing VMware-based applications and workloads. It helps them to operate more professionally and diminish budgets and also allow IT staff to preserve steadiness. It will also help the customers to use their surviving VMware tools, workflows, and sustenance.  The venture believes in a multi-cloud flora and fauna and will linger to deliver optimally for the customers to use the best expertise in their excursion to the cloud.

We will be looking forward to the endurance of our enterprise with Google Cloud because of the comfy CloudSimple, a VMware Cloud partner. This was claimed by Ajay Patel who is the senior vice president of the Cloud Provider Software Unit at VMware.

The enterprise with Google Cloud enables shared customers to run VMware assignments on VMware Cloud Foundation. With VMware on Google Cloud Platform, customers will be able to control all of the understanding of VMware tools and training. They will be able to protect their stashes, as they implement their cloud policies. It will speedily fetch new-fangled amenities to market and operate them faultlessly and in a more protected manner across a hybrid cloud setting.”

The attainment of CloudSimple lasts to validate Google Cloud’s pledge to providing enterprise customers a comprehensive suite of solutions to revolutionize their IT substructure. Both the entities are thrilled about the joining team, and the proficiency they will transport to Google Cloud.
